Mahama Will Beat Nana In Any Election – JJ

image
The Deputy Minister for Energy and Petroleum, John Abdulai Jinapor is convinced that twice defeated presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) can never beat President John Dramini Mahama in any election.
Mr. Jinapor who until his appointment was the spokesperson for the President, both at the time he served as vice-President to President John Mills to his transition to the highest office of the land, said that William Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, would be whipped anytime he stands any national election with his former boss.
The former spokesperson who was an integral part of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) campaign, which lasted for only forty (40) days as against the NPP’s over two years, was contributing to a newspaper discussion on Metro TV’s “Good Morning Ghana” programme hosted by sit-in presenter Samuel Agyeman on Monday.
Having in mind the petition at the Supreme Court, with the nine judges led by Justice William Atubiga, are yet to make pronouncement on, Mr Jinapor believed that the attributes of President Mahama could not be matched by Mr Akuffo Addo who was for the first time beating in 2008 by late President Mills.
He was speaking ahead of declaration by the Supreme Court who were petitioned by Mr Akufo-Addo, his vice-presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and party Chairman Jacob Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey, demanding to annul over four million valid votes.
In a sharp rebuttal, the representative from the NPP, Eugene Asante Antwi, could not let the statement pass without disputing it, said the statement by Mr Jinapor can happen only when the elections are stolen for Mr. Mahama, but not on a clear, fair and transparent manner.
The NPP is in court seeking to over-turn a declaration by the Electoral Commission (EC) led by its Chairman Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan that the 2012 general elections were conducted amidst irregularities, which largely benefitted President Mahama.
After listening to both petitioners and respondents make submission on the case, the Supreme Court has adjourned sitting till July 30, when they shall re-convey to hear the final addresses by the actors in the petition, to enable them determine the true winner of the 2012 general elections.

EMELIA BROBBEY'S FRIEND TREATHERNS TO
EXPOSE HER WITH A VIDEO IF ...................................

I don’t have an idea, what people gain from bringing someone down but as Emelia Brobbey is busy defending herself and clearing her name, an unknown friend of hers (probably) has decided to spark it all over again by threatening to release a video of the whole incident. I mean is it fair and what will you gain from it, after you bring her down. She’s not the only one who has stolen something. Even if she did. According to Xfm 95.1 official facebook page post, A friend of Emelia Brobbey has threaten to release a video that proves the Ghanaian actress actually did steal the bracelet in London.Emelia Brobbey after arriving in Ghana last night was met by colleague actors and the press where the she explained that she didn’t steal anything.
Well, we think Emelia didn’t settle the score in London before coming home as we think she has left her friend in London to suffer the consequences.
The supposed friend of Emelia Brobbey therefore urges her not to do “mouth mouth’ or else she will release the video to prove that she ‘stole’ the bracelet in London.
Now we don’t know who to believe !!! Let’s wait for the ‘video’.

RUMOR: SAKODIE CAN REST, SONNNI BALLI AND BOGGY DOGGY TO DISS
SAMINI............

Samini must be the most-hated Ghanain musician right now. I’m sure Samini would have walked away free if he hadn’t mentioned Sarkodie in his ‘PINK SHEET‘ song but why diss Sarkodie? You already know that I guess.

Many musicians who probably never liked Samini before has joined-in on the beef and has thrown many punches at the award winning artist. Yesterday, Shatta Rako who is one of the pioneers of dancehall music in Ghana, released his diss song titled ‘KEY‘ to Samini and it seems it’s not going to end there.

A reliable source told OMGGhana.Com that, Sonni Balli and Yoggy Doggy who paved way for Samini as we all know but are missing in action are recording songs to diss Samini. Sarkodie can rest now, he don’t need to address Samini on the questions he asked in his Pink Sheet song.

SHATA WALE (BANDANA) WILL *DIE* SOON

Instead of mincing words, we at Flex think dancehall artiste, Bandana aka Shatta Wale will die soon with the popularity he has garnered lately.
A fortnight ago, an article was published seeking to ask or question who truly the dancehall King in Ghana is. In reaction, another article by another writer came out bluntly stating that the question the first writer asked needed no research or debate for an answer because the only musician in Ghana who can be crowned the dancehall King of Ghana is Samini. As to whether the two writers plotted the two stories as a publicity stunt for Samini or not, only they can tell. We are in no authority to judge.
After Bandana’s triumphant performances at Ghana Meets Naija concert and Rackus Entertainment’s maiden edition of BASS Awards, Flex newspaper wanted to know from the funs of dancehall music which musician in Ghana they think qualify to be crowned as the King of dancehall music in Ghana. This we did by visiting some areas in Accra-Nima, Newtown, Ashaiman, Adabraka, Bukom, Circle, and Teshie where funs of dancehall music reside most or sweat it out at clubs and pubs. We told them that one entertainment writer has crowned Samini as the dancehall King in Ghana and asked if they agree or not. They all unanimously disagreed.
In their response, they said Bandana aka Shatta Wale is the King of Dancehall in Ghana. However, we at Flex newspaper think Bandana has transcended Ghana. We therefore say: “Bandana will die soon.” Are you perplexed? Well don’t be, because we don’t mean Bandana will die as in being taken away by death. The D stands for Dancehall, I for International, and the E for Emperor. So putting it right, Bandana will soon become a “Dancehall International Emperor.” Bandana is now ready for the international market as a dancehall artiste! Bandana is synonymous to talent! Bandana is talent personified! Bandana is the definition of talent! Bandana will die soon! Bandana will soon become a Dancehall International Emperor.
Bandana showed maturity when he apologized to anyone he has offended in the past and in recent times on the BASS Awards nominees jam stage last week. The only advice we at Flex will add to our positive wish to him is that he should check the crude side of his character because if he doesn’t, his character can kill his talent. As the old axiom goes: “the charisma can take you to the top but the character will bring you down.” A word to the wise is from the Flex team. Henceforth, when you see or meet Bandana, call him DIE – Dancehall International Emperor! Until then….MOTWUM!!

TARZAN SPEAKS: ATUGUBA, JSC HAVE COME OF AGE......

Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby
He kept the best to the last, drawing the loudest decibels of applause from an otherwise partisan crowd and uniting all of the inky fraternity to home in on the single unanimous headline to bring the gavel down on a historic and epoch making chapter of Ghana’s history and March to an enlightened and accommodatingly mature political environment.
In the final gems of what has been a superb and impeccably timed act of bringing levity, soberness, and proportionality to an otherwise pompous and overcharged legal tussle, ATUGUBA JSC, summed up the import and value of the seven month hearing of the Petition to annul the 2012 Presidential Elections. The Presiding Judge’s allusion to Osagyefo Polo Ground speech of March 06 1957, “At long last the Battle of Evidence is over…..,” highlighted both the historic importance of the process that had exercised all of our minds for seven months, as well as an affirmation that we will do well to protect, defend and cherish the nation state that our founders bequeathed to us.
The parting shots to Dr Kwadwo Afari Djan were simply a master stroke. Not only did it show empathy with the tortuous and bruising encounter the Returning Officer had been put through for 14 days; it also managed to caution against the easy resort to passing the buck to others and thinking that you have washed your hands from a matter. The clear lesson was, “Watch it mate. It is always better to exhaust the limits of your powers of resolution before walking away thinking somebody else will do your bidding. You will never know when it will come back to haunt you.”
The unanimity of newspaper headlines the next day was the icing on the Atuguba JSC super act. It defused and swept away the unnecessary tensions between the Judiciary and the Press about the powers and limits that each of these great pillars who act in our name and on our behalf.
It managed to sweep away any doubts, if indeed there were some, that the Bench inherently adopted a soft touch and accommodating attitude to the 2nd Respondent acting as a ventriloquist for the 1st Respondent. Indeed, the enthusiasm with which every single reportage welcomed the President’s words, and the amazing soberness and sense of togetherness that informed all the myriad of platforms of social punditry, was confirmation that ATUGUBA JSC had yanked is back from the brink of a potential “Kenya refrain” and managed to prepare EVERY GHANAIAN LIVING EVERYWHERE to accept the outcome of the case and continue to be each other’s keepers.
Never mind the little spats that punctured the marathon proceedings. Ghana’s Supreme Court has demonstrated that it has all the skills of high intellect, sense of accommodation and sensitivity in spite of its awesome powers, the stamina and the vigour not to have missed a single day of hearings, individually and collectively; totally unbowed and articulate in giving insightful and very erudite interjections to bring clarity to the proceedings; demonstrating that their rulings were “on the face of the merits of each challenge” and not as predictable of every newspaper headline bar the one of the final day.
When you put all of this together with the awesome image of all the lawyers for both Petitioners and Respondents coming together to dance the “WE HAVE ONLY ONE GHANA” JIG, then I become more and more convinced that Ghanaians have embraced the notion that this nation of ours, in its 4th manifestation after several false awakenings, will always prefer “TO COUNT HEADS THAN TO CUT HEADS”, even if sometimes the question of how many of the heads turned out to be ghosts have to be determined before ATUGUBA JSC & his noble band of 9 or as they have surely ensured, their perpetual successors till the ultimate JUDGEMENT DAY.
My only previous encounter with ATUGUBA JSC was in the case of the Republic versus Kwame Pianim (circa 1996). This was when my senior Akora brother had gone to test the law as to whether he would be allowed to become a Presidential Candidate in the 1996 General Elections. The action had been brought against the considered advice of us who were working with him. As it turned out, it was really an internal NPP dispute been played out in the Supreme Court of Ghana.
After a dramatic 2-2 position had been reached. ATUGUBA JSC was placed in the unenviable position of casting the deciding vote for Kwame Pianim’s Presidential ambitions. The good Judge choked on his words as soon as he had begun; quickly abandoned any pretext of being able to continue with delivering his address, and visibly choking with tears, banished Kwame Pianim’s ambition into the dustbin of history. As one of those who had downed all other tools to work for Kwame’s bid, I was shattered and confused about the injustice meted out to the one who had been incarcerated for 10 years trying to defend Government by the people for the people. My instant retort was to label the ATUGUBA JSC as “Billy the Kid” for not standing up to what he knew to be the rightful position and rather crying like a baby.
It is against this background that today I am proud to publicly acknowledge that ATUGUBA JSC’s Presidency of the 2012 Election Petition, measured, sensitive, humorous, and above all uniting us in a common commitment to peace and brotherliness, may turn out to be the most important bequest to Oman Ghana since March 06 1957.
Massa, you have well and truly shown that the LAW DOES INDEED LIE IN THE BOSOMS of you and your eight colleagues. YES SIR YOU HAVE INDEED COME OF AGE IN THE TRUST THAT WE CAN REPOSE IN YOU AS IMBUED WITH THE GIFTS AND SKILLS TO DELIVER JUSTICE FOR ALL.
FORMER PRESIDENT RAWLINGS SPEAKS ABOUT ELECTION PETITON AS HE COMMENDS ATUGUBA AN GHANAIANS AS A WHOLE ......
 READ HIS FULL SPEECH.....
ADDRESS BY H.E. JERRY JOHN RAWLINGS AT A HIGH LEVEL SUMMIT BY NATIONAL PEACE COUNCIL AND MANHYIA PALACE
THEME: JUSTICE, PEACE AND REFORM WILL STRENGTHEN GHANA

BANQUET HALL, STATE HOUSE, ACCRA – JULY 19, 2013

His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Asante, His Excellency John Agyekum Kufuor, Naa Professor John Nabila, the Inspector-General of Police, Nananom, Niimei, Honourable Members of the National Peace Council, representatives of Civil Society and Political Parties, Distinguished Guests, members of the Media, Ladies and Gentlemen:

Issues of national importance and perhaps international relevance have again brought us together to participate in a forum on justice, peace and reform with the goal of further strengthening our democracy and political development.

Ghanaians have been witnesses to the fascinating spectacle of our electoral process being placed under judicial scrutiny over the past few months. As we inch closer to the conclusion of the process there are natural concerns that the high-adrenalin that characterizes our political competitiveness and discourse may spill over when a verdict is finally given.

Allow me to commend our Supreme Court justices for their composure and moderating influence throughout the hearing process. Their performance so far, under the scrutiny of television cameras, is worthy of mention.

At a similar forum in November 2012 ahead of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections, I counselled that our political leadership have a huge responsibility to give proper direction and guidance to their supporters across the country, to desist from acts of reckless impunity.

Today, I can only reiterate that our political parties, especially the two who areopposing each other in the law courts, have a patriotic responsibility to protect the sanctity of our democratic process by properly educating their supporters on the role of the judiciary and the fact that decisions may notautomatically go in favour of their party.

Our weakness when it comes to politicking is the impression political leadership often creates that their individual party has to win at all costs and failure to win means something untoward may have taken place. We cannot allow such attitudes to affect supporters’ perceptions in the run up to the Supreme Court ruling.

Ladies and gentlemen, for us to achieve an incident-free post court-ruling scenario we need the full support of the media and indeed every citizen of this country. We have to concede that some of our media have not helped to objectively disseminate news about the on-going judicial process but have contributed to unduly raising the political temperature. The media have to revise their approach to reporting electoral disputes and be guided by the principle that their agenda-setting role should always protect the national interest and not be tarnished by the petty, biased and parochial political agenda some of them pursue.

Many Ghanaians now have access to various social media forums so this admonishment does not only go to the mainstream media but also to all those who have taken it upon themselves to abuse their freedoms in chat rooms by pursuing a vitriolic political agenda that has the capacity to negatively influence unsuspecting users of such forums. Hiding behind the Internet to pursue a dirty political agenda is cowardly. And this is no less cowardly than those journalists who boldly fabricate stories as a way of protecting their paymasters.

Our political leaders, traditional leaders, opinion leaders and indeed every Ghanaian, has a part to play in ensuring peace and unity for our country. Let us not relegate the responsibility to a select few. We can all play our part within our communities and circles of family, friends and associates.

At the end of the day our response to the ruling will indicate how mature we are as a people and how our political process has evolved. We cannot afford to fail this test.

We will of course also expect our judiciary to deliver a ruling that will inspire the confidence of both the winners and losers and further go to strengthen and protect our political process, national cohesion and self-belief. Justice is perhaps one of the most essential and intrinsic contributions to the internal equilibrium of the soul.

There are serious battles ahead of us – corruption, economic battles, the burning down of our markets and crime. Let us get this one out of the way and take on the others. We need to move on.

Thank you.

MEET GHANA'S RICHEST MAN....

It’s so sad that Ghanaians don’t allow Forbes to know their finances but according to sources Dr. Kwame Addo Kuffour who is the brother of former President J.A. Kuffour and a former member of parliament at Manhyia constituency is the richest man in Ghana legitimately.
Even though it’s not confirmed and we know that others might be worth more than that but his money is from a legitimate source. He owns several hospitals in Ghana and in London, UK. He’s a doctor by profession. He thought medicine in many universities in London and in Ghana at no charge, it’s obvious he don’t need anymore money in his life.
It is alleged that he is worth a whooping $1.2Billion dollars and if it’s proved, he could end up in the forbes billionaire list. He’s actually worth more than Jay Z and Beyonce’s worth put together. Check out his photo below. I would really be glad if this can be proved.

Turkey 2013 :Aboagye wins adidas Bronze Ball

At the end of a dramatic FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013 final, France lifted the most prestigious trophy in world youth football after overcoming Uruguay in a penalty shootout in Istanbul. Midfield strategist Paul Pogba’s headline-grabbing displays throughout the competition helped lead Les Bleuets to the top of the pile and he was deservedly awarded the adidas Golden Ball as the tournament’s best player. Ghana’s Ebenezer Assifuah took home the adidas Golden Boot after finishing as top scorer. FIFA.com rounds up all the award winners.

adidas Golden Ball: Paul Pogba (France)
The very presence of the France captain out on the pitch was enough to command opponents’ respect. Pogba’s attributes, from his intimidating physique, fearless tackling, tireless running and the ability to read and determine the pace of the game, made the 20-year-old the team’s undisputed leader. Furthermore, the Juventus midfielder was crucial to the morale of coach Pierre Mankowski’s side, geeing his team-mates up on countless occasions when their heads dropped.

adidas Silver Ball: Nicolas Lopez (Uruguay)
Anyone who has seen Nicolas Lopez play will no doubt have realised the forward is no ordinary talent. The 19-year-old has an invaluable knack of conjuring chances from nothing and while blessed with a devastating turn of pace, he is equally adept at biding his time, waiting for the right moment to pounce. Possessing outstanding technique, the unpredictable Roma front man forces defenders to remain permanently on guard. His contributions were often decisive in helping La Celeste into the final.

adidas Golden Boot: Ebenezer Assifuah (Ghana / 6 goals, 0 assists)
Ghana’s energetic No17 came into his own when the West Africans had their backs to the wall. It was Assifuah’s brace in the 4-1 triumph over USA that helped the Black Satellites shrug off their shackles following two straight defeats, while he also grabbed the equaliser in a tense 4-3 quarter-final victory over Chile, before heading in the last-gasp winner in extra time. The 20-year-old Liberty Professionals FC forward finished top of the scoring charts and was instrumental in the 2009 champions’ upturn in fortunes which culminated with them returning home with a bronze medal.

adidas Silver Boot: Bruma (Portugal / 5 goals, 2 assists)
He may only be 18, but the attacker wasted no time in showing why his future is predicted to be particularly bright. Given Portugal’s surprising departure in the Round of 16 - after just four games - Bruma’s statistics make impressive reading. The Sporting Lisbon forward, whose role model is Cristiano Ronaldo, was a constant thorn in the side of opposing back lines, with his pace, mobility and close control the source of many a defender’s anguish. As breakthrough performances on the international stage go, Bruma’s will take quite some beating.

adidas Bronze Boot: Jese (Spain / 5 goals, 1 assist)

Having arrived in Turkey with a formidable reputation, the Real Madrid frontman wasted little time in showing what all the fuss was about. Just five minutes into La Rojita’s opening game against USA it became clear that talk of the 20-year-old being the future spearhead of Spain’s attack is far from premature as he netted his first goal of the tournament. Just 39 minutes later he notched his second, while his other strikes were all decisive too: Jese scored the only goal of the game against Ghana, the all-important second in the 2-1 win over France, as well as netting in the final minute of the 2-1 Round of 16 triumph over Mexico. The only time Jese failed to find the net was against Uruguay in the quarter-finals, where Spain were eliminated following a 1-0 defeat after extra-time.

adidas Golden Glove: Guillermo De Amores (Uruguay)
De Amores was without doubt one of the stand-out characters of the tournament, constantly urging his team-mates forward with thunderous instructions from the back. The importance of his ambition, will to win and outstanding reflex saves in Uruguay’s second-place finish cannot be underestimated. Still just 18, the three goals the Liverpool Montevideo FC shot-stopper conceded in Turkey were the fewest of any custodian at the competition.

adidas FIFA Fair Play Award: Spain
Despite their billing as one of the title favourites prior to the tournament, Spain were sent packing in the quarter-finals. Nevertheless, alongside their eye-catching short passing game, the Iberians’ sense of fair play did not go unnoticed. In five games coach Julen Lopetegui’s troops received just five bookings and were deservedly honoured for that achievement.

HEALTH TIPS

Why is moisture bad for your health?

Homes are meant to be warm and dry. Damp homes are dangerous and can lead to serious health problems. You may not even realize your home is damp. If you see condensation on the inside of the windows, on your walls or on any surfaces in your home, there is moisture in the air. Moisture leads to all kinds of problems. You have probably seen the window in the bathroom steam up after a hot shower. Basically, when your home has moist air and heat, you create condensation. When you are boiling water on the stove or running the dryer you are heating the home and producing steam. Moisture promotes mold growth, which can create serious health problems. Respiratory conditions are common when a home has a mold problem. Typically, you can keep mold off your walls and prevent it from destroying your home by cleaning it properly and ensuring your home is properly ventilated. Use a fungicidal soap to wipe down any areas where you see mold growth. This is usually identified as a black, thick substance that grows along the base of walls and around window sills.
